scars (when you talk)

when you talk
sometimes you talk
about scars

not the kind
i have catalogued
and memorized

on your hands
legs and feet
(those hurt me)

but i knew a cutter once
with tiny white scars
we never ever mentioned

when you talk
sometimes you talk
about scars

from people and things
i never knew or saw
and may not understand

but all your scars enrage me
filling me with desire
to rise against every mark

until i recognize they are you
accumulated and bared there
for me for me for me

when you talk
sometimes you talk
about scars
